What is Indian Classical Literature?
Indian classical literature includes epics, poems, dramas and religious texts that were written many years ago. They are mostly in Sanskrit, Tamil and other old languages. The main books studied in this course are the Mahabharata, the Ramayana and the works of Kalidasa.
The Mahabharata
The Mahabharata is one of the biggest epics in India. It is written by Vyasa. This story is about the family fight between the Pandavas and the Kauravas. It teaches about dharma, karma and trith. Students can read it to learning about ancient wars and values.
