By examining the writings of authors and critics like Sujit Mukherjee, Sisir Kumar Das, Amrit Rai, MK Naik, Nabanita Deb Sen, Tillotamma Mishra, Eleanor Zelliot, Bulleh Shah, Akka Mahadevi, Meera, Raghuvir Sahay, Ayyappa Paniker, Kynphem Sing Nongkynrih, N.T.
