by Writing assignments is mandatory for appearing in the examination. Therefore each student has to submit their assignments before applying for the Term End Exam. Here let me give some guidelines for preparing an ideal assignment.
General Guidelines or Instructions
- Download the prescribed question paper from the IGNOU website.
- Attach the question paper with your answer script.
- Attach the front sheet and evaluation sheet.
- Write your roll number and name clearly and legibly because these are information that need to upload your mark to the IGNOU website.
- Write assignments own handwriting, typed and printed copies are not accepted.
Specific Guidelines/Instructions
- Better to write one side of the paper that makes a good impression on the evaluator
- Put question number within the margin. Otherwise, the evaluator may not notice your answer and you lose your mark.
- In the case of paragraphs and essays, better to start the new answer with a new page. It helps the evaluator to notice very easily.
- The length of your assignment is very important as far as concerning paragraphs and essay questions.
- Answer the questions based on the words it demands. For an essay question, you have to answer 250 words or 350 words. When you write the answer keep words in your mind.
- Usually, 80 words are contained on one side of the paper. write your answer respective to that and always keep a good length for each answer.
- Avoid copying directly from the study material. Study materials can be used for structuring your assignments. Draw additional explanations, and examples from other sources like authentic websites, books, journals, etc.
- Write the introduction and concluding paragraph which is the sign of a well-structured assignment.
- Avoid taking more space for tying the answer script. Most of the candidate tie their assignment which crosses the space of margin and the questions number may not be visible for the evaluation.
